Guest guest
We insisted my dad go into the hospital today. The specialist saw him and agreed. They are doing some procedure on them tomorrow but his liver is basically in full failure mode. There is nothing they can do. My dad is still quite clear headed and isn't scared. He accepts the situation and was even joking around. They asked him about any confusion and he did mention he thought he saw the cat by him, but it must have been a illusion. Just wondering, if he is in the last stages cirrhosis... what is the range of time that he has Days, months? I live in the US and he is in Canada with my family. Does anyone have any examples of their situation once you are admitted to the hospital and the dr's are saying he there really isn't anything they can do other than comfort measures? His hands, feet stomach are full of liquid, he had discomfort and pressure in his stomach, he was coughing a lot and had bad headaches... Basically the works. Trying to get an idea of time frame once one is at this phase... how quick and is dying of this painful? has anyone seen someone dye from this as their organs shut down? Does the patient know it, feel it as its happening? Thanks.
