Guest guest
HI~ I did a search through the archives, and did not find anything. I was wondering what our professionals believe to be the best way for home-based businesses to prepare bottles and containers before filling, i.e. with what to wash, soak, or sterilize? Alcohol, bleach, etc. Kathy Kuykendall Leavenworth, KS mailto:kathyk@... http://www.angelfire.com/extreme/skoriginals/
Guest guest
I would be interested in knowing too. Currently, I rinse with rubbing alcohol, but am not sure if this is adequate. I can tell you though that you can NOT boil the PET plastic bottles. Ask me how I know <g>. > HI~ > I did a search through the archives, and did not find anything. Guest guest
Thanks for the info on bottles. At this point, I generally don't buy straight from a wholesale vendor as I am not purchasing the large quantities required. Up to this point, my bottles and jars have come from co-ops and smaller " middle-man " businesses, and they have been unpacked, handled, repacked and sent to me...who knows under what conditions they were stored before they got to me. (The last batch I bought were dirt-cheap and dirty to boot.) That's why I asked. You only mentioned alcohol, what about bleach solutions? Kathy K. Guest guest
Kathy, Yes you can use a dilute bleach solution as a final rinse for your bottles. Again the key is not sterility but general cleanliness of the packaging. Young KY Labs Innovators of Fine Personal Care Products www.kylabs.com RE: preparing bottles Thanks for the info on bottles.
