Guest guest
We have been devastated by celexa's effects and my wife needs an antidepressant no matter what it looks like or she'll be going to the white room for ice cream or perhaps worse. We have a wild life but lot of tragity to deal with. SSRIs have changed the formula for our realtionship and we hope its not forever. I managed to steer her to Welbutrin a drug that works a little different then Celexa as it is call an Amphetamine based antagonist or something like that. It is supposed to work sometimes in reversing the genital anesthesia and I would like any advice from any source on this drug. It ironic that the SSRIs are for depression and the give them the moment some shoes any sing of humanity like crying but once you find out that it had made a unik out of you you are way more depressed as your intimacy is pretty much gone. maybe they should make couples both take it so they'll neither one care any more about sex! I get so angry at these drug pushers that i need to keep myself in check. Who is to blame and how do i hurt them back or at least stop them! Is Welbutrin safe and might it help both depression and the PPSD problem. Some hope! You see I love my wife so much and this has taken our closeness away leaving us with only the frustrations and and trust problems. She is worried that i am going to stray and i worry that she is going to think it's only me she can't desire anymore and try somebody else. Our love is legendary in our circle and the public in the entertainment world. People cry when they see the way we interact and tell us that we have restored their believe in romance many times. They tell us that they wish they were as hot together and they envy our sexy life. But now that SSRIs have taken the truth of that away it a charade that we are great lovers and we smile the best we can and go home after performing knowing they'll be no on core performance once we get home! You can't fake these looks! 4 of 4 Photo(s) DSCI0004.JPG Jan Matt New years day detroit.jpg
Guest guest
I'm on generic Wellburtin now (Bupropion) 150 mg for a couple months. I can't say I notice much change in the genital numbness. It just makes me more awake and hard to sleep. Maybe I haven't taken it long enough. Maybe it will work for you and your wife though. Guest guest
My heart goes out to you, Matt. You are very brave to put your photo's on which gives your post so much power. And your wife looks gorgeous, so I do hope things improve soon. As she still takes medication it is possible she might not have PSSD but the usual sexual dysfunction that affects many people on these drugs. Rhodiola Rosea is a gentle herb with fairly powerful antidepressant properties which might be able to substitute the antidepressant. Guest guest
My husband and I are in pretty much the same boat but opposite. He was taking Zoloft, Ambien, and Mirapex for anxiety, insomnia, and restless leg. It was a recipe for disaster! We were exactly like you and your wife where people envy us and how loving and romantic we are to each other. We started having intimacy issues November of 2010 and we waited it out. In January 2011, the doctor put my husband on Lexapro saying " this will take care of your intimacy problems. " . Needless to say, the doctor lied. He lost even more interest in not only me but everything. It pretty much destroyed our lives. I became depressed and I started gaining weight and he became more out of touch with reality. We were fighting about it almost every night. Finally he saw me sitting in our room crying because I felt he was not interested in me anymore and that he just didnt want to tell me. He saw what it did to me and even himself, kind of an awakening moment, so he quit taking everything. Months went by and he felt better and became his normal self except the desire / libido did not come back. We went to a different doctor in October 2010 and after a massive amount of research on my end I was asking him about PSSD and treating it with Wellbutrin. The doctor thought I was nuts but saw how desperate we were and even saw that my husband did not have anxiety but was lightly depressive. He did a testosterone test and it came back normal, so he prescribed 300 MG of the Wellbutrin XL. After 2 weeks, hubby decided he wanted to try to be initimate. It worked! We tried a few days later and it was a failure. We decided together that repetition and the desire to get better are what works. We are a month and a half into the meds and we are almost back to the way we were before the SSRI's took their toll. My husband and I had to learn that he had to want to get better and I had to stop blaming myself for the intimacy problems. Overall, the wellbutrin has made it to where he can cope with his depression and it has helped him gain confidence back to where we can be together completely. We still have work to do, but every single day it gets better and our relationship gets even stronger than before. I know our stories are a tad different but I hope you get the same end result we did. > > We have been devastated by celexa's effects and my wife needs an antidepressant no matter what it looks like or she'll be going to the white room for ice cream or perhaps worse.
