Guest guest
I have a theory. I wish I had thought of it earlier, so I could have been observing longer, but for the past three or four years I have observed that almost every car chaser I see is a herding breed - collie, border collie, German Shepherd, etc. Perhaps they are trying to herd the cars? On the border collies - so intent and focused. My field trial bred Labrador (really Beccas) has that focus when he is working, or something close to it, but in general, it seems much harder to find in Labs. W Re: Re: Beth´s page Alice, I have watched those competitions on Animal Planet and those dogs are amazing....All Business aren't they! They just live to herd. I had a friend that had a border collie and he would take it to the beach with him when he fished...and that dog would watch the fishing line...not take her eye off that line...and as he reeled it in the dog stayed with it...it was so funny! She was an amazing dog! She would never bite the fish though...just stare at the line, as if hypnotized. I bet you burn a lot of calories keeping up with yours! I used to go to many sheepdog competitions, but this year I have been concentrating on my walking and hiking instead of driving so much. I get a lot of exercise caring for my animals, but it is never enough to make up for too much eating :)Alice>> > > Beth:> I love Border Collies!!> When I said "communion" I was thinking about the relationship between the horse and the dog. I'm not catholic so I don't like that kind of communions.... lol> What a handsome son you have (the one with the YMCA T-shirt..)!!! > Saludos> > ps... I'm married but I'm not blind!!! =) Yahoo!
