Ken,

I have had a bad time of it lately, I haven't been online for weeks. I

ended up in the hospital because I took to much Xanax when I was having

a panic attack. I live in chronic pain and have had trouble getting

proper meds. Doctors were afraid to perscribe pain meds. for a long

period of time. But now I am getting better care. I thought after having

an overdose experience, that for sure the meds. would stop. But my

doctor believed that I wasn't trying to kill myself and that I just

couldn't get releif. I started having panic attacks when pain flares

would come on and I could get no relief. The stress for being constantly

in pain is causing me so many other problems. But I'm trying to do

everything I can to make life tolerable. Have you heard of the Hoffman

Institute? I am going there soon and hope it will help me deal with the

pain and other side effects I experiencing from my problems. Hope things

keep getting better for you. M.

Hi Ken,

It's good to hear from you again. I didn't know what happened to

you. I've been fighting to get back into school. Since I had to

withdraw during Spring Semester, financial aid put me on suspension and

the appeals committee denied my letter. I paid a visit to the friendly

vice-president of student affairs and requested that my academic amnesty

be applied to the already 9 hrs earned. Since they require 12 hrs and

financial aid put a stop to summer school, I explained my situation. In

2 days I got the good news that the vp had approved the go ahead with

the amnesty.

Finanacial aid is waiting on the new official transcript and I will

enroll in the 2nd summer session.

I also applied to the University of Alabama Birmingham for their

research project for FMS. I sent my medical records this week and hope

to hear soon whether or not I qualify for their research project.

Monday was a week ago, Sonny fell out of his chair. He wasn't hurt

but scared the pejeebies out of me. Sent me into a real bad flare. He

only received minor bruises and a real sore shoulder.

That's all my news. Good to have you back, just take it easy.

,

My 23 year old daughter went through the same problem with her school this

past year. She had to drop out of school during the first semester right

after Thanksgiving upon the advice of her physicians, with chronic asthma

and other medical problems. She was hospitalized for 2 weeks in patient,

and then did two weeks of out patient treatments almost daily. Needless to

say, there was no time left for finishing school in the midst of these

medical problems, hospitalizations, and treatments. She was able to work

through the problems with financial aid, but at first they wanted to require

her to pay back all of the funds she had borrowed for that semester. Glad

you both were able to make satisfactory arrangements with your schools.
