Guest guest
Well, I'm not sure what you mean, but I wouldn't want to debate anything either. Not here. I think this place is a place where we gather to enjoy each others struggles, hopes, fears, and to help each other with the struggles of this horrible disease. I am really interested in Austrailia these days, especially because of you and , and having seen all three of these movies. I don't like violent slasher movies as I said in the last post, but for some reason, I LOVE to watch a movie that is scary in some way. I loved " Signs " with Mel Gibson, for instance. WE also saw Cloverfield and loved it too. I place it as the scariest movie I have ever seen. I guess I'm a wimp, but it did do a number on me. There is a free movie website that also has free TV shows going way back to the 70's. It's called http://www.hulu.com/ I hope you ane every one can enjoy this site. I have watched almost all the movies, but there is still so much television, I won't run out. LOve, Bobby Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Re: Aussie Movies Hi RWE, Good to hear from you - I was a bit worried when I hadn't seen any posts from you for the last day or so. Hope Gustav has been kind Yes, I have heard of all those movies. A funny thing about all three is that they are all believed by some people to be true stories however all are fictional but loosely based on true events (Rabbit Proof Fence is slightly controversial and I woulnd't enter into the debate!). Maybe stretching the truth is an Aussie theme lol?! I haven't seen Wolf Creek because of exactly what you described - brutality and being terrified! Have seen Picnic when I was a kid and it scared me silly. Haven't seen Rabbit Proof Fence either. Jarret is famous over here as an actor originally but I grew up with him hosting a lifestyle program. Funny chap No, I havent' been to any of those places but Hanging Rock is only an houir or two from where I live. I wouldn't go to the outback either. It's a beautiful yet scary place and I've heard you don't go out there without a gun and you don't pull the car over for anyone. Think I'd rather stay at home! It would be nice to explore my own country but I can't handle the hot weather anyway Cheers, Kate > > > > > > Hi Kate, I just checked out your website and I reckon > > its not a bad idea goodluck with it. > > What part of the world do you live in? > > Tracey. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Bobby, I had no intention of starting a debate over the movie especially in this group as you mention. I just thought it was a coincidence that all three movies you mentioned had that characteristic of fact based fiction and thought it beared mentioning as there might be some people who read the posts and think it's a factual movie and others who think it's a fictional movie and I thought I'd clarify for everyone that there are both points of view in Aus - I personally hold neither opinion as I haven't seen it. Sometimes my humour and casualness may come across wrong, but I hope not too often :-) How are you anyway? I like to read your posts each day but haven't seen many lately. Guest guest
I totally understand what you are saying. I enjoyed all of these movies, anyway, although I thought 'picnic' was kind of esoteric and slow for my taste. I didn't think any of the movies were controversial, but I see that the rabbit proof fence could misconstrued. I did not take any of your casualness the wrong way, but I do in retrospect think that some Australians might take a poor view of being depicted the way rabbit proof fence does, but I think that back then people as a whole acted differently, as people in the future will probably think of us. Think about how draconian, and primitive medicine was even in the 1930's.... --- Jarret is a brilliant actor, and I saw an interview with him, and unfortunately a lot of Aussies are never ever going to be able to forget him in the role in wolf creek. Gere played a crooked cop some years back, and I can never forget it. I absolutely HATED him, and some of that hate still lingers. Just so that I am not rude to those who have no idea what we are talking about , the movie wolf creek is a film according to the internet movie database- " Stranded backpackers in remote Australia fall prey to a murderous bushman who offers to fix their car, then takes them captive. " The creep in this movie was in another Austrailian mystery when he was a young man called " Picnic at hanging rock " . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picnic_at_Hanging_Rock_(film). I hope this thread hasnt been too much of a distraction. I think it's nice once in a while to talk about something else. But , ahh, back to livers. *sigh* Bobby Re: Aussie Movies Hi RWE, Good to hear from you - I was a bit worried when I hadn't seen any posts from you for the last day or so. Guest guest
Holy MOly, CHief!!!!And I am trying as hard as I can ti remember th post you are referring to, but, alas, it has become ammoniafied. At least my brain is CLEAN. Windex brain, 1index clean. I could make a commercial about 409 and Windex, LOL. I reduced the lactulose down to just two doses a day so as to not have it interfering with my pain pill. It has been a rough two weeks, or so, when folks say " I haven't heard from you for a while, this is why. I think I'm posting, but I'm really not. I go back to find my reply to Penny, or MaC, and its not there. Becauase I never wrotw it. I only THOUGHT I wrote it. That s how this crazy thing affecyts me. I think I did something, but I really didn't, or I do really do something, and don't know I did. Hope you get your tips done ok. I go for an EDG, a CT and a hepatologist, and last but not least, pulmonologist.
