Guest guest
Wise Women- THANK YOU for sharing your thoughts with all of us on this list. Now I need your advice. About a yr ago one of my clients happened to be an OB/GYN physician. (Realized this half-way through our visit!) She has now invited me to see pts in her practice--11 MD's, 100+ deliveries/month. In December I started teaching a monthly BF class for them and will be doing a staff training next week. Before going any further, I want to get ideas of payment options for working within an MD practice. For anyone out there who is working in an MD office, how do you get paid? Are you an employee of the practice?, Do you keep your business separate and give them a percentage for use of their space? Do they handle the $ and give you a percentage? Any other options? Any advice? Does anyone have an arrangement that you really like??? Thanks in advance, Jane Kurtz, RN,RD,IBCLC The NewBorn Baby healthycells@... Guest guest
Jane, What a nice testimony to your expertise to have a former client hire you! Kudos to you. I work for a midwifery office and am not an employee, get paid a set fee for hourly work, up to 2 hr time, clients' insurance is billed and it's ok but do not get paid enough for the amount of time I spend with clients, charting and follow-up. I love what I do and there are advantages to this part time work since I do home visits privately, as well. Feel free to email me privately off list for more detail.
