Guest guest
Good morning, Said the old man as he slid slowly out of bed, bones groaning, muscles moaning, while his wife and keeper, an avid sleeper lies there sleeping like the dead. Chu is also curled-up there keeping watch over his mother at the foot of the bed. She pulled an extended shift at work last night again. I hope I can make it down the darken hall to the micro-wave for a coffee jump-start, if I can make it there, I can make it anywhere ---New York! New York! Tis dry and warm here in the Arid State, no rain, nor any cool clear water, just beans & weinies, & dry martinies. It will take a little time this morning to locate what plane or dimension I'm in, & the time,-- past, present or future. The past is ever present, but due to the momentariness and limited range of our ordinary individual consciousness ( or rather that part of it which we use in our every-day life.) which can dwell only on one point at a time, & which therefore has to be in constant motion, ( The Red-Queen ) in order to cover a wider range of events, facts, or objects----due to this momentariness we experience only that point as present, on which our mind is focussed, and all other points as past, ( or, according to our expectation, as future ). Now, if we could see all points simultaneously, the past would appear as another dimension of space, but I'm still not sure where I am.---or who I am. And the aspect of 'being' is nothing other than the total aspect of becoming. There is no question of choosing between these two aspects, as to which is more real or true. Both are united, and those who try to build a philosophy upon only one of them, to the exclusion of the other, lose themselves in verbal play. Even if time, as we understand it, is an imperfect way of seeing things, the movement on which it is based and the consciousness which percives it are real factors of immediate experience and profound significance. So, where am I? who am I? and what time is it? Talk to ya later, when I wake-up ----ha! Regards S.C.
