Magnesium status needs to be good. Lambert's multi supplement for pregnancy

and breast feeding contains 150mg so presumably safe in these amounts and

can be easily taken in diet. 10 brazil nuts contains 80mg for example.

Hi,

I have not been sleeping very well due to leg cramping and my hands cramping.

They have not been bad but bad enough to keep me from sleeping.  I called my

live co-ordinator nurse (I am so lucky here with my doctors and nurses) and she

told me to try drinking tonic water.......I just had the best nights

sleep.....Don't know if it was that or just thinking it was the tonic water.

Has anyone heard of this?

Thanks,

Lyncia

Hi Lyncia,

I have no idea about the tonic water and have never heard of that

solution, but I sure am happy that it worked for you and you finally

got a good night's sleep! Praying that continues!!!

Love and hugs........

Well, I'm losing my silly mind! Yes I do know what is special about

tonic water! It has quinine in it! I watched an old episode of

House last night in which the tonic water was the culprit because the

patient was overdosed on quinine cause he drank too much tonic

water. I know Momma was prescribed quinine for leg cramps when she

was suffering from renal failure. Lord, I'm glad I remembered that!

It would have eaten at me for days and days!

Hugs.......

You beat me to the punch, you smart lady. Yes, it's the quinine. I was having

terrible pain in my legs at night, and my PCP told me to drink tonic water. I

didn't do it though, because I was afraid. I never know who to believe. It's off

to the pain doctor on the handicap bus for Sharon and I. Everyone have a good

day. Love, Bobby,aka RWE

Diane,

I had to chuckle when I read this. I saw that same episode of House

last night, plus once before. It's one of my favorite shows.

Penny,

Yep! I always told Terry watching so many medically-based programs

would pay off someday! I like to watch just about anything that has

a medical mystery involved.
