Guest guest
Any specific suggestions for a single mom? I would love to point one of my clients to a good resource. Would the Gromada book be helpful or does it default to " and you have a large and wonderful family support system? " Lea Todaro
Guest guest
Hi Lea, If the mother you are working with doesn't have a large and supportive family, now is the time to build one. I'm not saying it's impossible to be a single mother of twins, but its hard and has the potential for disaster. Now is a wonderful opportunity for her to learn to ask for and receive help from the people in her life. (assuming she is not living alone in the wilds) In my personal and professional experience, most people are interested in helping families with twins because they know it's needed and are happy to give where there is a need. Guest guest
Thanks, Sharon. This mom has some great support - her mother will be renting a house nearby starting at the end of pregnancy and plans to stay for several months afterward, and they have a great relationship. I'm guess I'm also curious whether you all have seen a difference between naturally conceived (not sure that's the best way to phrase it) twins and other multiples in terms of reaching their estimated due dates and being born at higher weights, hence being better equipped to get off to a good start with nursing. Many thanks, McCormick, IBCLC Shelburne, Vermont
