Guest guest
It must be because they are using the web tv email system, yours come thru on mine just fine, always enjoy your sense of humor Mike, even if I don't respond much. I am going thru a very bad spell at this time, went today for my first (finally) MRI, so now maybe we can figure out what the heck is going on and I can begin to get on with my life! Sometimes it takes me many days to get thru just one days worth of mail, but it does help to have it there, you are all so supportive and helpful, it's great to know that you are all there. Cross your fingers for me that this will finally give me a more definitive diagnosis and that they can help me to not lose the use of my right leg altogether, the nerve damage is coming on quite quickly after 1 1/2 years with having the ruptured disc diagnosis, but not being able to do anything about it much, went to pain classes, gone thru the rounder on the meds, but they don't always help very much, rather do it alone. Thanks again to all of you, Cheryl V.
Guest guest
OK guys, is everyone getting this ? How the heck did get blue on black ? I am feeling somewhat blue and my temper right now tends toward the dark side but I didn't think you could send emotionally coloured email ! Guest guest
Mike, Your stuff comes through fine on my programs. I use Outlook Express for e-mail. Sometimes your mail comes through with differently colored type or background, but it is always readable. Some programs won't accept what other programs send. My daughter can't get the Happy Birthday " cards " I send her the way I set them up. She gets the message black on white and the colors on a separate attachment. To participate on other lists I have had to adjust how my e-mail is sending information to Plain Text from HTML. Ray ---------------------------------------------------- Reach me by ICQ. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, Have had different diagnoses for a pretty advance back condition from almost every doctor I have seen. The treatment for most of them is the same. MRIs are good things. Somehow the technicians seem really well trained, and then the results go to a Radiologist, or someone with comparable skills. I thing radiologists are, as a group, very high on diagnostic skill level. Just one thing I want to suggest. Most times, you & your doc get the reports, which are usually informative, but contain a pretty slim amount of information on your condition. It is not usual for a patient to talk to a radiologist, but I encourage you to do so. Their level of sophistication is pretty high, and the radiologist may be glad to talk to you. It shouldn't ruffle any feathers if you do this, and you may get some clear & concise explainations of what is going on, and probable course, options, etc. This is something you could do by phone too. Radiologists don't get many opportunities to interact with their patients Unless yours turns out to be a crab, you might make someone's day. Guest guest
I think it's been determined that the people that have some difficulties are the ones using webtv. I have never gotten any messages from you, or anyone else, that are blue on black or anything like that. Unless you're sending in HTML format and the receivers are receiving in HTML format that shouldn't happen, at least I think so! They all come through black on white here. Dear Cheryl, I hope that the results from the MRI are helpful for you and the doctors. If you're losing the use of your leg due to the ruptured disc will they do surgery?? I had that happen to me, although it happened very fast, and the surgery stopped it and reversed a good chunk of the loss of movement I was having. My neurosurgeon and I decided to do the surgery when the MRI confirmed everything and I was having more trouble moving my foot, toes and dragging my leg, plus ungodly pain. I'm glad I did it, even if I do have scar tissue that causes its own problems, because at least I can move my toes and foot and don't drag my leg as much! Good luck and keep us posted when/if you can. hugz, Ruthie =========================== Ruthie Cunliffe K2ZQ ruthie@... http://www.cunliffegroup.com/ruthie/ Oh, no! Not ANOTHER learning experience! Radiologists don't get many opportunities >to interact with their patients ooohhh....great suggestion Ken! The radiology lab I use here in Rochester always has the radiologist come in and talk to you right after you have the scan or x-ray, with a brief bit of info of what they saw and didn't see. This is the Dr., not the tech, although the techs are very helpful but cautious...rightly so. I just love it that the Dr. of radiology comes in .... makes me feel like they're paying attention to not only the scans but the patient! Add to this that that same lab has, at the one location (the one I use most because it's in the same area as my Dr.), a Dr. of Radiology who is a friend also...a fellow Amateur Radio op. Sure helps us! had chest x-rays and at that point the doctor didn't know WHAT was wrong and he was pretty sick and we were pretty scared... and when our friend came into the room after the x-rays were done and took us to SEE the x-rays, boy I tell you, we sure did appreciate that. His lungs were clear as could be, thankfully (they even thought it might be TB even though he's been inoculated against it...twice). Yup... great suggestion Ken and I will tell everyone, do it..you'll feel better! Guest guest
Thanks Ken, That may be a good idea, if I can get thru, I belong to HMO, can't always get thru to who might be important to you. Have a great day, Cheryl V.
Guest guest
Ruthie. Thank you for the blessed words of encouragement, this has been a very discouraging wkend and I am dragging the right leg a lot more lately, so hopefully mine will be a 'success story' and not a 'horror story' when I can give more updates later this week or early next. Thank you all again, you have all become like friends on my puter, Cheryl V.
