PSSD does lower dopamine but taking tyrosine alone (an excitory amino) can be a

problem with anxiety. You need to balance it with plenty of 5-htp to boost

serotonin (inhibitory). B6 is very good to take and would look at adding zinc

to the mix. Another way to boost serotonin naturally is to use SAMe (which is

expensive) or to use the less expensive methionine. They boost serotonin

naturally without all the side effects. I take alot of aminos and other

supplements and the key is to properly balance them. The aminos tyrosine and

L-Dopa (i.e. mucuna pruriens) help build dopamine but work like a teeter totter

with 5-htp which boosts serotonin. Too much of one drops the other. If you are

feeling anxious, having sleeping problems, you probably are tipped to far on the

tyrosine. Try boosting 5-htp to counter the tip. It will help with sleep,

anxiety, depression, food cravings, etc.

This works for me but make sure you have some decent other supplements to go

with it because amino acids use other vitamins and minerals to help convert to

serotonin and dopamine and won't work without them and/or will deplete them. I

would take some time to read up on " Amino Acid Therapy " to get a good

understanding of it because it can be helpful.

Its said that the cronic use of ssri's generates changes in genetic expression, not in dna but at active gene function.that is the cause of pssd. We have been exposed to a potent poison and now many of ( if not all) us have to deal with this for the rest of our lives. It's very likely that all pssd sufferers will have serrious endocrine disfunctions. Is almost sure that prolactin levels are off the scale in all pssd suferers.I'm thinking now trying tianeptine.its aserotonin reuptake enhancer. the exact oposite of ssri's.Any thougths???sorry the bad english, Im from PortugalKeep hope alive!!! I have been reading more about P5P and decided to not try it.

Too risky.

What you've said about the genetic expression is true. But it's also

true that you turn genes on and off your whole life due to stress or happiness.

A very smart and experienced doc told me after revealing my symptoms that 3

years of SSRI use must have damaged my liver.

I think the reason why we are not getting better is because the DRUG is

DEPOSITED in the BODY FAT,LIVER and possibly BRAIN and the system is unable to

flush it out.Must find out why.Need to get your livers checked.

Liver flush and infrared sauna could be a choice to detox this crap out of our

systems for once and for all.

It will take few weeks to get the medicine out of your system. For example for Prozac it takes 7 weeks.

The SSRI's definitely affect the liver. That is the main reason I quit them. I was tested for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, which included a liver enzyme blood test. My enzyme levels were elevated 6x normal. They should be in the 40-50 range and they were in the 260-290 range. The doctor made me come off them since they could find no other reason for the elevation. I weened off over 5 1/2 mos. and my liver enzymes returned to normal about 2-3 mos. after taking my last pill. Unfortunately, that is also when the PSSD started.> > >> > > Let's get things straight.SSRI-s act on serotonine which will affect many other chemicals in the brain.> > > So we need to fix the cause not the symptoms of PSSD.> > > Since I quit Paxil cold turkey I have slowly developed panic attacks and 1 year 3 months off the drug I now have panic disorder.> > > The symptoms of low serotonine fits me therefore I was
