Guest guest
this song just sorta holds me together in tough times..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce8nfWyX7P4 From: Kurt <sgttutt2001@ yahoo.com> Subject: Songs To: livercirrhosissuppo rtyahoogroups (DOT) com Date: Sunday, September 21, 2008, 8:22 AM Talking about songs that we listen to that helps us in one way or another I am listening to " I'm Moving On " by Rascal Flats. I am not posting a attachment but listen to it if you can, I really like it, and so does my wife. I would like to know what songs everybody listens to, those that make you laugh, cry or whatever, as I belive music helps us get by in one way or another. Now on attachment I would be for not allowing them as with the amount of spam nowdays, and the mining for info, I would vote for keeping it as it is. Guest guest
It's weird because I never liked country music before my transplant, but since then my favorite artist is Trace Adkins, and the two songs of his that just have so much meaning to me are (1) The Rest of Mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrgTwvl4_UI (2) I Came Here To Live - Couldn't find a video, but the lyrics are below. I swear my donor must have liked him. I love tons of music: R & B (Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross really tears me up), rock, pop, bluegrass, blues, oldies, jazz...all depends on my mood. Oh, and the soundtrack from the movie Rent...which I've seen about 30 times. Love that movie!!!!!!!! Lyrics of I Came Here To Live by Trace Adkins: I grew up in a town where tough was a cigarette And a souped up car on a county road Nothin' much to do back then So we'd make bets On how much drink a guy could hold And I held my own Learn to hold my own Daddy works some dead-end job at the concrete plant Mama taught the Sunday bible class For eighteen years I remember thinkin' There was more to life than that So I ran the streets to beat the Devil Goin' just as fast as I could fly 'Cause I came here to live I didn't come here to die Mama used to wait for me with the porch light on Worried about her little boy 'til I got home Daddy he'd say listen son But back then there wasn't much That I didn't already know I reckon I was doing close to 80 When I felt the tire slip out from under me And I never set out lookin' for Jesus So I guess Jesus come lookin' for me And He found me upside down in a ditch Smokin' gas in my eyes And He said son you came here to live You didn't come here to die Sunday morning I got up and I went to church That summer I got a job and I went to work Met a girl in town put some money down On a little house with a yard Our little boy was due in September But he came early in July For eighteen days all I remember Was settin' there at his side Sayin' son open up your eyes Just open up your eyes 'Cause you came here to live You didn't come here to die Son you came here to live You didn't come here to die Penny > > From: Kurt <sgttutt2001@ yahoo.com> > Subject: Songs > To: livercirrhosissuppo rtyahoogroups (DOT) com > Date: Sunday, September 21, 2008, 8:22 AM > > Talking about songs that we listen to that helps us in one way or > another I am listening to " I'm Moving On " by Rascal Flats. > > I am not posting a attachment but listen to it if you can, I really > like it, and so does my wife. > > I would like to know what songs everybody listens to, those that make > you laugh, cry or whatever, as I belive music helps us get by in one > way or another. > > Now on attachment I would be for not allowing them as with the amount > of spam nowdays, and the mining for info, I would vote for keeping it > as it is. > > Kurt > #1 Care Giver...for my wife > >
