Diane, after all these years on morphine based drugs, and increased

tolerance I finally find a muscle relaxant that works so well I have to

go to bed after taking it!

Zanaflex. I am sure I will also build up a tolerance after a while, but

it sure is nice to get some relief after all this time.

LOL on your son....perks of aging!!

Love,Lyn

Lyn,

I am so happy for you...I have been taking Soma for a long time now, and try

not to take it unless I really have to, but the relief is not much and is

short-term...This sounds like a combo of xanax and flexeril??? *L* If it

is NOT addictive, and not one that might cause reactions, I might be able to

talk my tight-fisted internist into letting me try it. On a good night I

only sleep 4 to 5 hrs. w/o taking something like Tylenol PM which makes me

groggy headed in the am. I take a Claritin daily, so taking the PM stuff is

probably just an antihistamine overload. I may be forced to go to Columbus

and hook up with a good Rheumy but do not want to get dependent on drugs

until I absolutely have to. I watched my mother " zone out " and fry her brain

with Talwin, Triavil and Alcohol and it was not a pretty site, so don't want

to go there....You got any Docs to refer in the Columbus area?

Riverside Hospital is easy for me to get to down 315...avoids a lot of

traffic...Dublin is good too on the west side of Columbus...could you look

for me? I LOVE my Doc, but there comes a time when love is not enuf....he

is scared to prescribe to me because of a few reactions I have had...*S*

Don't blame him, he has to cover his butt!!

Warm fuzzy hugs,

Di

Diane-Wouldn't know about Ohio docs, but I do have some people I can

ask. Be a couple of days.I really do think you should go see a rheumy.

They are the best at diagnosing and prescribing. And you know the

pitfalls, so I doubt if you would ever go where your mom went. I am

addicted to pain meds, morphine based. But I don't drink with them, and

I don't drool in the corner!!! I can be done, controlling pain with

meds without being a " junkie " persay.

Be good to yourself, and get some relief.

I think zanaflex is addictive. They don't bother to even mention that to

me anymore.I will look it up!.

Love,Lyn
