Guest guest
The emergency room should see him without medical insurance. I would take him to the emergency room. The herniated belly button could burst. If it's black like you describe it could be infected. And if ascites came back that fast, then it's a very bad sign of the liver functions. Ascites can become a life threatening situation. It's best you take him to the emergency room for treatment. MaC bobbi wooten wrote: I have an ascites question. This is my Dad's big thing. He is on lasix and adactone. These medicines are not helping, so why take them? Is there another reason that I am not aware of other that to keep swelling down? He had paracentesis last Wednesday, and they got 9 liters. He is already swollen again bigger that he was a week ago. Now his belly button is sticking out, can all of this give you a hernia? Is there more to be worried about with this belly button business? It looks black. He is so uncomfortable. He has not seen a dr. since November, because we have been working on Social Security, and he has yet to recieve a medicaid card, and no doctor will see him without insurance. So, now what? Guest guest
The black belly button is a bad sign. It is filled with blood. His paraumbilical vein is re-cannalized. If that breaks open, not good. I don't mean to scare you, I'm just telling you where you are at with this. MaC is 100 per cent correct. He needs the ER, and by law they have to give treatment. Guest guest
, one of the things we got accomplished during our caretaking of our friend Ardis, was we were able get her a transplant evaluation, and they knew she had medicare. She was eventually disqualified, but not for insurance reasons. It was for lack of social support. They felt that a nursing home was not a viable discharge plan post transplant. So, you must try, sir. You have top at least try. Good luck, . Bobby. Re: Ascites I have Ascites from a failing transplant. It can be a very serious situation. My bely is now ssore to the to touch.
