Guest guest
Guess I must be gaining muscle weight while losing that ugly visceral fat. That was a little bit of brightness in my day. Plus, I have to keep the focus on my original goal which is to eat healthier and exercise more for the long run, which means my weight loss is much slower since I'm changing things slowly over time.So I'm feeling better and going to take my larger, I'm a pear shaped babe butt out tonight and do a little healthy feeling good. May we all have visceral fat decreasing days and nights. :-) Great news Congratulations. Have fun tonight.
Guest guest
, There is a show on the Discovery Channel called "YOU, The owners manual" If you get a chance to watch it it is GREAT!! Covers alot of what you talk about. They also have a book by the same title. Hugs, in Texas (TnT) Give yourself a real pay raise. GET OUT OF DEBT! Then I read an article about visceral fat, the stuff that sits in the abdomen and encases the organs, and significantly increases heart disease, diabetes, etc.Apparently women carry their weight gain either more in the hips (pear shaped) or in the stomach (apple shaped). Men tend to carry their weight gain in their stomach. It's this fat in the stomach area that is tied to visceral fat. Here's a link to a journal article re this study.http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3010084The other thing that was pointed out is that it's important to not focus on just weight but instead to focus on girth size (hips to waist ratio) as an indicator of heart health risks. Here's a hip to waist calculatorhttp://www.afic.org/WMWS/waist_to_hip.htmI was bummed about only losing 10 pounds, but once I looked at my waist to hip ratio and measured the inches I'd lost in my waist and hips, I felt much better.
