Guest guest
Alice, this moved me deeply. I used to play the cello. Played in the symphony for about 15 years. Then stopped. And the cello has resided under the grand piano in my living room ever since. Both are silent. For some reason unknown to me I never play either. And at one time both were my life. So I read you poem and wept for things I have let go. Sara innuendos past > THE MUSICIAN CAME TUESDAY > > The man came to take away > the old cello > that had stayed in the closet > since I thought I'd died > its foot stood among > the old galoshes > and its neck > turned against the wall > was behind the raincoats > silent and > out of song > no longer kept > > the man said: > I never knew you played the cello! > and he wiped it briskly > with a cloth > and he tightened the strings > whipped his own bow out of a fresh case > and played " Plaisir d'Amour " > in my livingroom > in the key of G > while I wept. > a.o.howell > > > > >
Guest guest
sara, dear - then take up yr cello! i have never played the cello, the innuendo was sensual but that musician awakened the muse in me.....for which i am grateful! i am still frozen ab listening to music bec i assoc it w/my darling departed husband, who loved it so - i try n am reduced to tears ev adagio! it will be 3 yrs apr 1 but i AM coll my poems wh he requested i do n sharing them w/j-f is an experiment in exposure. yr encour means more than u know! so dust off yr cello n fill the air with beauty - i keep in mind that one cello player sitting in the ruins of BOSNIA, PLAYING HIS HEART OUT. I AM CONVINCED THAT MUSIC OF THIS SORT HEALS THE EARTH'S AURA - oops too many caps. my love n thanks ao
Guest guest
Alice, thank you for you mail on projections. It is as if you were the angel whispering in my ear to take a look at what I was projecting. Synchronistic is the word. You are the lynch-pin of JF who brings balm and healing. maggie
