Guest guest
Dear or Maurice-As a proponent of cosmetic research into the benefit of herbs and botanical extracts,I am curious. I do not chooose to do lotions at this time but am trying to ascertain any topical benefits that may make it through the saponification process. Many commercially distributed products advertise claims such as " enriched with 17 aquatic botanicals " or " includes the strengthening power of herbal extracts " .As a home cp soapmaker, how can I capitalize on the claims of these amazing benefits and still remain within ethical and legal boundaries? And now ,part 2-unrelated. I am careful to separate those items used in the process of cp soap in my home.i wouldn't use any pots or utensils, previously used for soap, for food preparation.I assume the reasoning is that microparticals of lye and end chemicals remain on the surface structure of those items and could be reintroduced with the addition of heat, etc.Does this mean I should not place these items in the same dishwasher load-or for that matter-the same dishwasher with items intended for food prep? To further meditate, should I isolate my sink when cleaning these items,or use only a sink, like a utility sink for this purpose?(Which I do not have) Exactly how much transferrence do I need to be concerned with? I am sure that to ask this of a person as yourself with ideal lab conditions must seem preposterous but I don't have ideal conditions available to me at this time. Thank you for your input into these concerns. It is important to me......Jo Ann
