Hi,

It could be lymph node disease/disorder in general or, more commonly,

enlarged/swollen [lymph] nodes or even glands.

Morning/evening/afternoon all,

I'd appreciate some second opinions on how best to render

" adenopatías " in English - the term appears many times in a report on

potential adverse drug reactions in various contexts (e.g. adenopatías

mediastínicas), and since it is a generic expression I assume I can do

without providing greater context in each case.

Googling for adenopatías vs. adenopathies vs. lymphadenopathies I find

far more hits for the Spanish term, which would seem to confirm my

suspicion that I need to use something else in English ... but what?

(I know that other languages tend to pluralise names of disorders more

than is usual in English, so " cases/instances of (lymph)adenopathy " is

another option, but again not all that many web hits.)

So ... open to ideas!

In English and Spanish is the same, " adenopathies " . They both have the

same meaning. there is no need for other alternative.

G'day in NZ,

Either lymphadenopathy or adenopathy are fine in my book. In the

singular rather than plural.

This article is a good example:

Compare ghits for " mediastinal adenopathy " (17k) and " mediastinal

lymphadenopathy " (27k) - I think it's a safe bet :-)

" cases of lymphadenopathy " gets over 3000 ghits - this is not

worryingly low IMO

Although the term suggests lymph node " disease " (pathology), it

simply means lymph node enlargement of any aetiology.
