Sunny,

As I just wrote to Jo Ann, this is a dead topic. It is resolved and doesn't

need to be rehashed. Those on this list are here to learn how to better

manufacture their products. If some one wants to add additional ingredients

to a product that they purchase elsewhere then that is fine too. They still

have to label the product as if they are the only manufacturer because they

have assumed liability for the product with their modifications.

If you get right down to it ethics is not my expertise nor is it the

expertise of most members of this list and is definitely outside of the

scope of our discussions.

Re: ethics?

I agree with pat. i think it is frustrating for those of us who

produce our body care from scratch to be competing with people that

call thier products all natural and handcrafted but use bulk lotion

base and m & p soap. also they seem to be able to put cheaper prices

on thier soap at least. they call it all natural glycerine soap

which is a straight up lie. but is hard to explain to the average

consumer

Good Morning,

Oh my comment came up again. Yup, it is a question of ethics and too many out

there are passing their products off as handmade when they buy a base for $5. or

something, handmade is a little more expensive since we do not always deal with

one supplier, delivery costs and our mental and physical labour costs in

developing and formulation, ahh, but the beautiful wholesome results:)
