Several years ago I bought a citolnella candle, and felt it needed some things

to go with it. Gradually I bought all sorts of camping gear and fully intended

to use it all. Finally my younger son got me and all of the gear and off we

went to the mountains, and had several of the best days of my life.

Now you are inspiring me to get it all together and do this again. Thanks.

lindy's backpacking gear

thank you all so much for all your recommendations. I am just now

trying to get through the day :) I will see about hitting up freecycle

again, but I have not had much luck with bigger ticket items like

camping gear. My time is coming, I am just going through a rough patch

right now and I'll get on the other side of it. I am concentrating on

saving up for an eye exam and contacts. One thing at a time :)

Though I am going to just stick to car camping and day hiking. It is

good for now. My friends are giving me a tent and I am just tickled

like you would not believe. I have enough camping gear together to go

for a weekend :) and have a great time with just me and Boom the dog.

hugs

gets me every time!! :)

I'm so glad you are able to walk again, . That must be such a relief for you. I hope it gets easier each day.

I haven't read " The Road Unseen " but in the first book with his wife, " The Walk West " , I also didn't like how he treated his wife. In the second book I read, " Looking for Alaska " , he had a new wife. I enjoyed the adventures that he wrote about.

Did you have a good Father's Day, ?

Elaine

I read book (that I also heard about on here--thanks) and reading about him walking in New Orleans and through Texas; whew, how could he stand it?

Good morning Elaine and Y'all

I really enjoyed reading the book. " The road unseen " By the time I was half way thru the book I wasn't liking very much because of the way he was treating his wife. He did get better before the end though.

My knees allowed me to walk one mile a day for five days last week. I plan to try 1 1/2 miles per day this week.

Happy day Y'all

If you can at all, check into wearing knee braces :) I am reading a

trail journal right now about a woman who hiked the whole AT wearing

knee braces and she did not have any knee pain at all :) and she had

trouble before.

Now if they only made a hip brace hahahaa
