So here's an update on my sister ptp. We saw a ENT who said there was no

linguinal frenulum and wouldn't treat the labial frenulum (because it has

nothing to do with breastfeeding. I did another pre and post feed weight today

and again infant only gained 0.5 oz and when infant comes off her nipple has a

crease in the center. My sister does a good job of trying to latch her deeper

but it doesn't work. So we did our first CST appt today. Baby seemed to enjoy

it the message therapist admitted she hadn't been to a peds conference so when

we go again we will probably seek a more experienced practitioner. I did find

an ENT in St. Louis about a 3.5 hour drive name Amy Grawey. She does do labial

frenulums with a laser. So we have an appt. my sister is torn wondering if all

this is worth it, but she hates having to pump and bottle feed all the time.

Any other ideas of what to do. Any LC in St. Loius heard of the ENT Amy Grawey

we are going to send her pics and I am hoping she can reassure my sister she can

help. My sister cried after the last ENT said he could do nothing.

Thanks in advance for you help,

Karman Romero IBCLC

Sorry for the delay, and someone else may have already answered, but I'm trying to get caught up from 7 days of no email access and don't want to take the time to look forward for replies.

Dr. Grawey is not an ENT. She is a Family Practice dr who is also a Breastfeeding Medicine Specialist, both MD and IBCLC. She is terrific! I refer all babies in this area who need to be treated for TT to her. No more frustrations with ENTs saying "no TT" or "it's mild--no effect on bf--no need to clip." I am so happy we have her in our area.
