Hi Owen,

I had not heard/read this expression before, but I believe your

interpretation is correct.

Good luck,

----

Owen,

Though Wikipedia might not be as relaible as we would like, check this URL:

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruido_card%C3%ADaco

At the bottom, alter describing the normal heart sounds (“Ruidos cardíacos”)

you will see a brief description of the " silencios " .

I hope it helps…

Hello all

The patient's first and second heart sounds are normal, " R1 y R2

normofoneticos " , then comes " silencios libres " . Does " silencios libres "

mean that no intervening sounds are detected? Would " no abnormal sounds

noted " be OK as a rendering? Any advice gratefully received.

All the best

Owen

Thanks a lot, .

I can't find any referenced source or a specific rendering into English and

as you say Wikipedia isn't always a friend but since what's being referred

to here is the absence of significant information " no heart murmurs " seems

a legitimate interpretation.

All the best

Owen
