Guest guest
It's been a month since I first added one drop of DMSO to my eye formula. To recap: I've had a fungal infection in my tearducts since July 2003, that only becomes active in hot weather. It started in my left tearduct and eventually infected my right, but never as bad as my left. I have controlled it in the past with Goldenseal Tea. Adding Magnascent Iodine to the tea eradicated the infection from my right eye but not my left. I eventually dropped the tea and just used saline & Magnascent. My first formula was one fluid ounce of sterile unpreserved saline solution (Unisol or equivalent) and 4 drops of Magnascent iodine. (I must interject here that Magnascent now comes in 1% or 2% strength. I have just spoken with , the maker, and he confirms that what I've been using is 1% strength, as was all of his original publicly offered product, so it is important that if anyone uses this formula, my original formula is based on 1% Magnascent. If you use 2% Magnascent, then the drops of iodine must be cut by half.) OK back to the story...One month ago I mixed up the same formula above and added ONE DROP of 99% DMSO to it. It made my eye itch the worst it ever has but after that was over, the infection was gone and never came back. It is hot summer now and I have my own construction business. I have had many things to get in my eyes, not to mention sweat, in this past month, and I've had plenty of itches, but the itch from this infection seems to be gone. In addition, a totally separate bacterial infection that was apparently hiding dormantly in my right tear duct, possibly as a biofilm, was most likely killed at the same time. Words of caution: Anyone who reads this and uses this does so at their own risk. I have some suggestions about using this in a milder way, because the formula itself can cause quite a lot of itching and irritation. Consider weakening this by using 2 ounces of saline instead of one, only 1 or 2 drops of Magnascent, and still only ONE drop of DMSO. Also, it may be just as effective to use 1/4 teaspoon of MSM instead of the DMSO. I do know that MSM is much more soothing to the eyes but I don’t know if the intracellular transport effect of MSM would be as good as the DMSO. Another caution: By using DMSO, I had some sort of weird effect that I have not figured out, which I have previously described on this group. I think some sort of subclinical infection inside my eyeballs may have been killed off, resulting in a strange pattern in my vision for about 20 minutes, after which my color vision was subtlely better. I still have no idea what it was. I do know that it was related to the action of the DMSO. It was scary! But it turned out good. The first time it happened was in my right eye and was from oral ingestion of DMSO and had no relation to this formula. The second time it happened, 5 weeks after the first, was in my left eye and was definitely related to using this eyedrop formula, BUT it was still more related to DMSO, since I had used the formula before without DMSO. I do not mean to be confusing, I just want anyone to understand what may happen when you take your health in your own hands so you must make your own decisions.
