Guest guest
Dear Greg, I'm very sorry to hear about your wife's condition. It does sound like she is deteriorating. My only experience with this is of course based on what my best friend and loved one Ardis went through. She experience kidney failure in July of 2006. It was the hallmark of the last road for her. Though we were able to get a liver transplant evaluation for her at the last minute, the kidney failure pretty much sealed the deal. Kidney failure in the presence of cirrhosis is an ominous finding based on everything I have read and I certainly hope that your wife is a transplant candidate and that she is at a transplant hospital so that she will have an opportunity that Ardis did not. There are so many new members here I cannot remember from day to day who is a transplant candidate and who isn't, so please forgive me if I've assumed anything that upsets you. This has to be gut wrenching to go through for you and scary for your wife, and you are in our prayers. As I tell everyone if you need to vent or talk to someone,my yahoo messenger is on 24 hours a day, my user name is robwalkingeagle. God bless you. Bobby Good Evening! Good Evening! My wife was hospitalized this evening, as her swelling in her legs, and stomach had doubled. They are putting her on lasix therapy through the iv unit. Before the procedure started... labs were taken.. her kidney function labs didnt look all great. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.. I can take real answers and the truth. as i am being strong through this ordeal. Her GFR was 25 and normal is 60. Bun 3 and normal is 8 to 20. and her hemoglobin is 6 and should be 15.. the will do a transfusion for the hemoglobin tomorrow, ... this does scare me... especiall since were dealing with the kidneys... as the liver is stage 4. Guest guest
Greg, Im sorry to hear that your wife is so sick. The best thing that I can tell you is please corner her doctor or doctors and make them take the time to explain to you what each of the results from those tests mean in your wifes case, both separately and collectively. Im praying that when her ascites gets under control so will her kidneys. If I remember right your wife wasnt on the transplant list yet due to her labs and yet she has been in so much pain and fatiqued that it may be time to get a second opinion, preferably a hemotologist right away. Your and your wife are both in my prayers. Please keep us updated if you can. She is still in the hospital, been there since Monday.. Blood pressure went really low early this morning, right before I got there.... it was like 40. Subject: Re: Good Evening!
