Guest guest
That was so very true!! If we cannot be honest with ourselves, how can we be able to be honest or trust the honesty of others. I am just coming to grips with the extent of my disability & find that now that I am, my home life is much easier to cope with. Have had a good pain day, then stepped backwards a few hours ago & tripped over the dog Fell backwards & landed on my elbow. Wouldn't you know it was the arm that I had the surgery on & have the RSD in. So, not having a very good night nor expect a very good day tomorrow. Some good news though, hubby brought up the subject of checking into a once a week cleaning service to come in to help me out & so I would quit wearing myself out by trying to keep things up. Guest guest
I just got a housekeeper once a week and it is heaven. House all neat and orderly, just gives you a sense of peace. I was really putting myself through alot of pain trying to keep up.Is an excellent idea, even if you only use them for the big jobs. And how true what you said about acceptance and honesty with yourself. Once I faced the fact that the only way I was going to feel better was to actually DO what the doc said, and accept the limitations I did much better also. Good for you! Sorry about your fall...gee everyone is falling. Wonder why? Can we blame that on the time change too? LOL! Hope you aren't in too much pain from it! take care and REST! Guest guest
I Think that when disability begins, because of our own panic and the emphasis on getting along by minimizing serious problems (using denial), we hide a lot from ourselves & others. It can work in some situations, & with a lot of us for awhile. But eventually it increases the pressure on us to the break-point. It can be very destructive, and getting past it (self-awareness, understanding & acceptance) become liberating in the long-run. Has been that way for me, anyway.
