Guest guest
Hi Terry! I read your note and just had to respond. My son is 6 and he, too, has a wonderful imagination. His outlook on life has changed mine. And, like your son, he likes to act out scenes from movies. We've been fortunate that our windows are intact but your story reminded me of something actually quite funny that did. My older son, Tyler, was watching a Jackie Chan movie and was doing his own thing not paying attention to the movie...or so we thought! In the movie, Jackie was wearing a wire and watching the bad guys. One of the bad guys was on to him. He made Jackie sing so their conversation would not be heard over the wire and remove his clothes so he couldn't go anywhere. All of a sudden, stood up, started singing and removing his clothes! Tyler and I were laughing so hard it took a while to tell he needed to put his clothes back on and he really shouldn't copy everything he sees on TV. I'm really glad has such a great imagination; he just needs to learn what is and is not appropriate! Maureen, mother to Tyler, 10 and , 6 (MDS) venting > good morning, never thought I would be doing this but I need to release some internal pressure this morning before I combust! My son decided to shove the screen out of his second story bedroom window early this morning to help reinact a scene from a Harry Potter movie. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the window (which he showed me!). He has talked about various movie scenes from various movies (like daily) and we have talked about imagination and how its all pretend so many times. Earlier this week I went to a visitation day at his school and was so excited and impressed with his attentiveness and mental growth --- I swear that everytime I think we have made a step forward in one area there is a giant leap backward in another and its like an uppercut to the jaw! It caught me so off guard today. Thanks for listening. Think I will e-mail his father at work so he can deal with his mental attitude before he comes home tonight! > > Terry, Mom to Craig(15MDS) > > >
Guest guest
Terry, I am so glad that you got that out on here! I often have the same problems with Tim understanding fact and fiction. Thank God, he never opened a window! The one thing that I try to do is to tell Tim when he is watching a movie (Harry Potter is his favorite!) that that is not real and that REAL people can not do this. Maybe we can search and find someone that has some good advice in this area. I will let you know if I find a professional that would be willing to speak with us on this. I am glad that he didn't fall and hurt himself! Guest guest
I need to vent right now, and this seems the best place to do it. I have the appointment with my heart surgeon on Tuesday, and triple bypass scheduled for Thursday. I was told I needed to arrange for a referral from my PCP in order to have insurance coverage. Now, the PCP isn't the one who referred me, it was my cardio. But the referral supposedly has to come from the PCP. So, I called the PCP's office told them what I needed and why, that if they had any questions to call the cario. I contacted the surgeon's office about something, asked if they had the referral, They didn't have it. So I called the PCP's office to find out why. I was told they needed more info, so I told them to call the cardio's office without saying anything about already having told them to do so. I also called the cardio's office to tell them they should be getting the request. Today, I again asked the surgeon's office if they had the referral. They didn't. So, I try to call the PCP office and keep getting an answering machine that they are either at lunch or on another line. Doesn't make sense. So, I called the local office which is associated with my pcp's office, they are open. They tell me that my doctor isn't in today, but in Bouse and nobody is in the office. I get the phone numbers for the Bouse office. I call the first one, find out it isn't my pcp's office but rather the number for the adjoining office in . I call the other number, at least someone answers the phone who also works in the office so she knows what I am talking about. But, she says they are waiting for the info from my cardio. She assures me they will get it straightened out by Thursday, I tell her I need it by Tuesday. She promises to call the adjoining office to see if they can find anything which has come in from my cardio. She says she will call my back. I also call my cardio's office, get an answering machine that they aren't in Havasu on Fridays anymore, they are in Kingman and gives me the Kingman number. I call the Kingman number, different people than from Havasu office, nobody in Havasu office, she promises to leave a message for Havasu office to take care of on Monday. I also need to leave now to go buy an open front shirt to wear home from the hospital as they say I won't be able to wear any pull over the head shirts for a while, certainly not on the way home. All my tops are pull overs. Thanks for listening. Nor sure if I am going to take the Xanax before I go shopping or wait until I get back. gggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Jan H -- Jan H

Guest guest
Yes, Jan. And if I might add, if you could have a nephew or niece or close friend, keeping in mind that after they will still be members, but if you could get someone to join this group, and then post updates for you, you have friends here who will. Have no other way to know, and as I said before, when Penny was getting her liver I was biting my nails, not knowing. By the way, if you are reading, Penny, hi to you, hope all is well. Guest guest
I bought two shirts, but had to try on about a dozen to find some that fit. It is hard to know what size when the different brands aren't sized the same. One I really like, it is loose and will be easy to wear and get on. And it is one of the smaller sizes I tried on too. Long enough so if I have to leave my pants unbuttoned at the waist it won't show. And it is dressy enough that I can wear my spike heels with it if I am able to leave the hospital in them. I will be taking a pair of lower, clumpier heels along, and maybe some flats too, just in case. But if I have to wear the flats, I will have to pin up my pants so I don't trip on them. But I paid more for each of them than I usually do. I am used to going to the discount outlet here, Bealls, and just finding whatever I like for $6.00 or less, but that doesn't work when you have to have something specific. Thanks for all the prayers. One thing I haven't checked on is if they have internet access at the hospital. If my daughter brings her vehicle, she has a computer built into it. So, I will have either her or my grandson who is coming with her join here. Not sure if it would do much good for him to join. He isn't much of a communicator.
