Guest guest
Hello, a Serbian doctor has written the following on a medical certificate. 'Meta' appears to be word on its own, and not the prefeix 'meta-'. META IN HEPATE META PULMONUM I can only find 'mark' or 'limit' for meta. I can't see the connection with the liver and the lungs. The only wider context I can give is the following which appears on the certificate: ADENOCARCINOMA VESICAE FELLAE [---- of the gall bladder] META IN HEPATE META PULMONUM ANGINA PECTORIS Yours meta-challenged, and wishing all a happy Easter! Guest guest
One more vote for metastasis from S.P. Djordjevic, author of a French-English Dictionary of Medicine and a soon to be published Serbian and Croatian into English medical dictionary: " FROM THE CONTEXT OF THE DX, I'D SAY THAT META MEANS METASTASIS (M/MET/metas). DEFINITELY. THAT IS, THE CANCER HAS SPREAD FROM THE GALLBLADDER INTO THE LIVER AND LUNGS. " And now, a shameless plug: Feel free to contact me if you would like more information about the Serbian and Croatian into English medical dictionary. It's not finished yet, but we need to start gauging interest in order to estimate a print run for later this year. a Gordon editor of said dictionary Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian into English translation English editing and proofreading > > Hello, > a Serbian doctor has written the following on a medical certificate.
