Guest guest
Oh, and don't leave it for only 15 minutes; leave it until it dries out and falls out of the ear. If only garlic and oil don't work try also applying heat. Guest guest
That's an important point! So are we talking all day? I had him lay down so the oil and whatever was coming from the garlic would go into his ear! So just put it in there and leave it,huh. How many drops of olive oil? Also is the garlic going down into the ear in this crushed state? Isn't there a worry about the pieces of crushed garlic burning the ear drum? Guest guest
Dear Del, Ya, just put it in there leave it until it dries up, or fish it out the next day if you wish. I have never used garlic with any oil so mine just dried up and when I turned my head on it's side it popped out within 24 hours. I'd say no more than 2 teenie weenie drops of olive oil - you don't want to smother the garlic. Burn? Sting maybe, but I still don't think it burns. This is the first I have ever heard that garlic burns. I'd have to have proof to believe it, and I really don't think it's true at all. If it were true when I eat raw garlic I should have had my mouth full of burns and there aren't any. I've used raw garlic without any oil in my own ears when I had a raging infection and found that it took the pain away within 15 minutes - I'm slower than baby Tanner was. I felt good and the ear pain didn't return, so it equaled no infection either, or so I thought. The size of the cube I cut was about a 3/8ths inch size, then flatten it with the side of a knife and pop it into the ear. Del, I'm so glad your hubby's problem is minor and can be fixed earily. I got so worried. Take good care Del, Bee > > > > > Have used a garlic oil capsule, stuck with a pin and squeezed > > into > > > > my ear. > > > > > After the youngest had her first ear infection I got garlic oil > > for > > > > ears at > > > > > the health food store.
