Hi Tom,

I actually posted the original message in this thread. So, my

personal experience is that the pure olive oil bar soap I've been

using this week to brush my teeth has ELIMINATED the visible hard

tartar on the inside of my lower front teeth. I'll be getting a

cleaning (haven't been to the dentist in 2+ years) this month, so I'll

report back. It does take some adjustment time (and hopefully nobody

washed your mouth out with soap as a child!)

Interesting. Has it had any effect on the color of your teeth? How does

it affect your gums and the rest of the inside of your mouth?

Hi !

Long time no see/hear/etc. btw congrats on your new moderator status!

No change in tooth color and I haven't noticed any gum change either, but I've

only been brushing with soap for less than a week. The first time I tried it,

the hard tarter just chipped right off! It was pretty impressive as I normally

have a nice buildup on the inside lower front teeth. Normally, I scrape it off

with a thumb tack (yikes!) I will report back after I see the dentist, though,

and see what they say about my tartar buildup. Normally, they say it's

TERRIBLE. If I didn't mention it before, I'm using pure olive oil bar soap from

Greece (it's olive green in color and cost .43 at my coop). I think Dr.

Bronner's Peppermint liquid would be nicer in the taste dept., so I think I'll

try that next. Normally, I used baking soda with Peppermint essential oil mixed

in. Oh, and I use a Braun electric toothbrush.

----> , thanks to you I also tried olive oil soap for

brushing. My teeth felt cleaner than they ever were with toothpaste

or brushing powders ( I was using a powder by Natural Dentist). I

expected the soap to be awful but it really isn't bad at all. I

just wet my toothbrush and rub it on the bar.

I also thought of using Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. Years ago the

in the midst of all the info on the bottle it said could be used to

brush teeth. But that's now gone from the label? I also saw the

formula contains glycerine. I're read that mouthwashes with

glycerine aren't great for teeth so I left it alone for the olive

oil bar.

I've also been finishing my teeth cleaning with a brushing of a few

drops of Concentrace. Taste funny but I think it's really doing good

stuff for my teeth.

Keep posting on how it goes for you!

Lynn

Hmm, I will have to try this, then. I have some 100% olive oil castille

soap bars lying around somewhere.

Me too, so that part of the experiment will be held constant. <g>
