Guest guest
Another article about the higher contaminant content of farm-raised salmon...however, the quote below got me REALLY worried: " 'These fish don't have to be contaminated,' said Jane Houlihan of the Environmental Working Group, which wants salmon farms to switch the feed they use. Trent said many farmers in the United States, Canada and Chile are slowly replacing some of the fish oil in salmon feed with soybean and canola oil to address the pollutants. " The whole article: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-Salmon-Pollution.html?hp Still eating wild,
Guest guest
I would think it possible to create good farm raised fish. After all, we eat farm raised beef, pork, chicken, etc. I am not aware of anyone who sells natural farm raised fish. Such a think might even be better than ocean fish because of ocean pollution. I think it's a business opportunity especially as awareness increases about the current condition of farm raised. -Joe > Another article about the higher contaminant content of farm-raised salmon...however, the quote below got me REALLY worried: > > " 'These fish don't have to be contaminated,' said Jane Houlihan of the Environmental Working Group, which wants salmon farms to switch the feed they use. > > Trent said many farmers in the United States, Canada and Chile are slowly replacing some of the fish oil in salmon feed with soybean and canola oil to address the pollutants.
