Guest guest
Was an iodine kid, too. Purpose was to stop blood poisoning which I've seen. Its a red line running from the wound. If you put iodine where the red line ends, red line will disappear and send infection back to wound. Wanita > My father used to put Iodine on me (as a kid) whenever I had a cut or a > scrape. Guest guest
I always use A and D ointment over the skin where there is any remaining bit of splinter left under the skin. This has always prevented infection and the tiny piece works it's way to the surface after a few days. There are apparently many ways to treat this common problem and some things one should not do. Good advice. Thanks Sheila > >Doc said don't ever soak a wooden splinter as soaking it will make it swell > >and make it harder to get out. > > > >Judith Alta > > One person recommended putting " wart off " drops on a splinter > (A dermatologist, I think it was). Guest guest
Ever heard of Black sauve? I think it has another name other than black sauve. Don't know what's in it but it is something that was always in my mother's first aid supplies and I had some, but gave it to my daughter. It works super for splinters. Put it on and cover with a bandage. The pain goes away and the splinter backs out! Guest guest
The one we always got was from the local pharmacy. That is neat that it is an herbal formula!
