It can be a little worse than that ... there can be a gene that

makes you say, more resistant to viruses by making your

immune system work harder. BUT in the wrong environment

that same gene will give you an auto-immune disease.

The " wrong environment " doesn't even have to be " poor diet " --

just one you are not adapted to.

That's why I really appreciate the " Paleo " or " historical " or " genetic "

approach to research. Shoot, my ancestors lived on glaciers til

their skin turned white ... what ELSE did they adapt to? Certainly

they did not adapt to eat Balance Bars and tofu.
