Guest guest
Hi, just attended a talk and demo given tonight by Sandor Katz, author of _Wild Fermentation_ (with an intro by Sally Fallon). I thought I would let folks know to watch their community health food stores and co-ops because he is touring and giving demos on making sauerkraut and kimchi, as well as sharing samples of what he has made himself. (Wow, great kimchi, and the sauerkraut was awesome.) In our community it was not widely advertised, and I was very lucky to see the announcement in the paper. I'm one of those people who does better watching how others do things in regards to cooking, so for me this was a fantastic chance to watch what he did--he is very low tech, something I really appreciate. We also got to see samples of his homemade miso and kishk, as well as his kefir. Also, he has a website www.wildfermentation.com, I don't know if his touring locations/dates will be listed or not. He was in Eugene, Oregon, my guess is he is heading north, but I could be wrong. Cheers, Leann, inspired to try making some super gingery kimchee!
