Guest guest
I've oft opined about the lack of distinction between " grains " and " carbs " in the studies -- this one actually uses only sugars! The study shows the difference between fasting levels of white cell activity vs. the activity after eating sugars. And " Starch " , though it doesn't say where the starch came from. It doesn't show the leucocyte activity after eating protein or fat though ... still, it adds fuel to the idea of only one carb meal a day. Note that starches had the LEAST effect (so those slow-carbs the Indians ate would not be nearly as bad as cola). Also they used 100 grams of carb, which is an awful lot for the body to handle without any protein or fat to buffer it. http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/leukocytic_index.html Consequences Based on these studies, any person who eats largely carbohydrate-based meals, particularly those containing sugars, and snacks with small carbohydrate-based meals spread throughout the day -- as the latest advice suggests we should -- could lose up to half their immunity to disease for much of the waking day.
