Guest guest
Hi , >My doctor explained to me that cranio-sacral (thanks for the spelling >correction - Hehe.. well, I spelled Tinnitus wrong.. my fingers wanted to type -itis like other " itis " words. >I've not often seen it in writing) therapy >really only makes up a small facet of osteopathy. Those who practice cranial osteopathy often use that as their main treatment modality.. maybe she meant that the work on the cranium and the sacrum isn't all that is done. >That's how she >put it to me. I've been treated by both and, to me, the treatments >I received were very similar. However, I can only speak to the >treatments I've received for my specific issues. Yes, the " cranio-sacral therapy " and cranial osteopathy treatments feel very similar, yet there are big differences. I got very little results from cranio-sacral therapy but dramatic results from cranial osteopathy, and I went to several different practitioners of each. Although I do know people who get good results with cranio-sacral. And it's usually easier to find cranio-sacral practitioners. >Sorry for associating these too closely - I'm just a layman. No prob! I'm not a practitioner either, but have had more experience with them than I wish I had to! -
Guest guest
and , Cranial-sacral therapy is basically a bogus offshoot of cranial osteopathy. The requirements of learning for it are minimal, the skill required to practice it are minimal, and its applications are minimal. A WAPF-friendly osteopath who practices cranial osteopathy told me he's also fixed people who have been damaged by careless cranial-sacral therapy. I didn't notice anything from the cranio-sacral treatments, but I did notive BIG results from the cranial osteopathy. I went to a cranio-sacral practioner a few years ago for one treatment and then have been an " on again/off again " study subject for my ex-DH, so that's really all the experience I have with cranio-sacral treatments. Probably not enought to assess it fairly.
