Guest guest
Thanks Tasha, Kelli, and everyone who responded. I got an MRI of my brain on Dec. 23rd and am awaiting results. Hopefully, by tomorrow. I am really starting to wonder if my headaches may be hormonal, too. The fact is, my body hasnt been the same since the birth of Olivia. 2 years after her birth I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and in 06 w/ rh. arthritis! Yikes! I am too young for all of this! My instinct is telling me its a combination of factors that are contributing.....possible hormonal imbalance, sleep deprivation, and of course stress....Its now time that I put forward the effort that I have into my daughters healthcare, towards my own. The last 3 weeks have been horrible for me. When you're unable to accomplish simple daily tasks, like driving & cooking.....Its time to get help. I checked myself into the E.R., yesterday. They rehydrated me, gave an ekg, and a shot of fenedol & compazine for pain. 4 hrs later, my headcahe was gone. Yesterday afternoon, was the first day in a long time that I wasnt crippled by the headaches. It was such a good day. I think my head may be alright today, too (fingers crossed). Anyway, I will be getting to the bottom of this once and for all, this week. Thanks a bunch for any/all support advice re: migraines. Time to face the without a headache!! Woo hoo!! Guest guest
, As I'm sure you know, migraines can be caused by many different factors. My sister has suffered from excruciating migraines her whole life, and in her early adulthood learned to help control them by watching extremely carefully what she eats. She cannot have most preservatives in foods, such as sodium nitrate, sodium nitrite, aluminum and MSG. She doesn't eat any lunch meat, bacon or pre-packaged food. she also can't have most baked goods (baking powder, I believe has aluminum), flour tortillas, etc. She also uses BC Powder (which is just powdered aspirin, I believe) at the first sign of a migraine and has been able to control them pretty well. I'm not sure if this info. will pertain to your case or not, but cutting out some preservatives might help! I hope you get some answers very soon!
