But the Dr wasn't > too concerned about it. ----> They do shrink. I had mine removed 6 years ago because one was the size of a grapefruit and I was bleeding so bad I was missing work. They did a myomectomy that left my uterus intack. Mine appeared out of nowhere and grew quick. I was almost totally vegetarian at the time and using soy. And I was thin ...35 lbs or so less than now so it wasn't my fat cells feeding it. I'm sure it was soy plus the effects of too few good fats and insulin highs from too many carbs. As far as I know I have no fibroids now. My periods lighten up immediately after the operation and have stayed the same ever since. No more cramps, no excessive bleeding, no PMS, only swollen breasts that I can't seem to get a handle on? > menopausal the fibroid should shrink. I have heard the fact that I'm > over weight isn't helping to even out the hormones as the fat can store > the estrogen. ----> Yup my weight I'm sure is a piece of my problem. It's real stubborn piece. I'm doing a nearly perfect diet except for a few slip ups with sugary carbs when I'm stressed. I would be a hormonal mess if I was eating a SAD and trying to teach! The dairy piece did strike a cord especially as my wieght gain was in my breasts. That's never happened in the past when I've gained. > Also I seem to be very sensitive to the estrogen stuff since only a > couple of days of the HRT (supposedly natural est) and a couple of days > now of the Black Cohosh, ----> YES! That's why I've not taken herbals....I've felt like they didn't help. Right now I'm of the opinion that I'm sensitive to estrogens (or maybe one type of estrogen)and dairy could be adding fuel to the fire. I don't want to stop it because it also making me healthy. I think I'm going to try cutting it back, getting homepathic help, liver cleansing, and adding in more fermented cruciferous. I also am thinking of contacting Suze's doctor Ron Schmid. I think she's posted in the past about using indole to lower estrogen. Keep me posted Lynn
Guest guest
i haven't been following this thread very well, so i'm sorry if someone already said this, but: with herbs, it's really important to use whole herbs from an herbalist (or your garden!) instead of over-the-counter pilled herbs. the herbs in pill form are much too potent and people even have allergic reactions to them. herbs in whole form are indeed far less concentrated than herbs in pill form, and their potency may vary somewhat plant to plant, and you'll have to take them more frequently throughout the day, but they're whole and natural and good, and they'll do their work safely instead of with a sledgehammer. er, so what i'm saying is, if you're interested in the herb route, try again with whole herbs and see if you have a better reaction...
