taken at her office visit.  Our casting doc reviewed the standing

x-ray with us as opposed to the supine.  Her curve is now at 16

degrees with a minimal compensatory curve.  There has been more

improvement in the spinal rotation and symmetry of her rib cage.  Her

spine is much closer to the midline in comparison to the x-ray taken

at our last visit.  you can't even detect a rib hump any longer from

her front view.  I can see it still a bit from the back, but overall

her back and her skin look fantastic!!! !!  While I don't have

measurements of her supine x-ray yet, to my eye, it has to be about 12

degrees.... maybe less!  The OR timed everything perfectly with

minimal distress to Noelle....  The child specialist came in with toys

and played

woke her so there was minimal crying/stress to Noelle.....  Which

makes it so much easier for us!!!!  Our doc also asked permission to

enroll Noelle in a long-term study, which we agreed to

enthusiastically in hopes that it will help children with IS and their

caregivers in the future.....   We are so pleased with her

progress....  It's an amazing gift, especially this time of year!!!

Thanks Darrell! Noelle's doc would like her to be under 10 degrees before we start bracing... He cautioned me against thinking that would be our next visist... lol He knows me by now! I know she could hit a wall and not improve through a few casts before we get more correction. For now, I'm just enjoying the moment! Merry Christmas! Hope everything is well with you and Dylan (Pooh, of course) and your family!!! Steph
