Welcome to our group.... It really is such a source of support and comfort! What hospital is Logan going to? Steph

I'm so thrilled to have found this board. We are newly diagnosed and so unsure of the road ahead. Our son Logan, he's four almost five, was recently diagnosed with a 60 degree curvature. We took him in for his preschool admittance physical and the dr. found it then. We are seeing specialists at Akron Chilren's Hospital in Ohio and so far really like the Dr's there.Logan is scheduled to have his Risser cast put on February 20 and my husband and I are just are so unsure about his road ahead. It seems the Dr. can talk and show us pictures all day long but it just doens't help with the fear. Reading your stories here does though and I'm grateful to have a place where I can be related to.

minutes from there. We like it so far, the staff goes out of their

way and the Dr. is very nice. The hospital is beautiful w/ bright

colors and plenty of visual stimulation for the kids.

I haven't heard of that hospital, but it sounds very nice.... You also may want to send copies of his medical records and x-rays to a Mehta doc if you are interested in a second opinion.... sometimes it helps to get the extra reassurance. I think I got 4 opinions before I started casting. Are the docs there Mehta trained? Do they have a pediatric casting frame? The right frame is crucial to derotating the spine, which is why I'm asking..... I'm so glad that you found this group and that Logan is in good hands. Have a great holiday! Steph
