My son, now 17 months old, just started Early Intervention help with a ST, PT and Child Development Specialist. I learned about Early Intervention through this group. When I got home from SLC after the casting and Jack was having difficulty walking sitting and just plain adjusting (as I have mentioned it took about 2 plus weeks for him to really start to get the swing of things), but when we first got home I was crushed. I thought if I could just get him some PT I would feel good. I called, I got the application and it took about 2 months to get the ball rolling, but the services are starting and I am really happy to get the help. I learned something that I want to pass on to other parents of the group; I learned that when a young child goes through a period of learning how to walk and crawl, all over

again....sometimes things like speech get pushed to the back burner. I wasn't even worried about his speech, I just wanted some PT! Point of the story....the services are there for our children, if you are concerned about your child's development, it is worth checking out. Wishing ALL of our children a wonderful Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year! We all could use it! ~Krista

Hey every one I just wanted to talk a second about early intervention. When my baby was having problems reaching her milestones, I recommend to see a PT. It was my PT, that saw the rib humb and curve, not my baby doctor, due to working with many different kind of kids with these problems. I think having a team, tougher to help your baby is important, this is why I recommend every one to check out early intervention. They can help your child at any stage they are in, with physical and emotional help. Reading many articles on line, and researching it I can see how important PT and OT THERAPY is. So please check it out, Poulsen
