Guest guest
Hi everyone, spoke this morning to Hepamin people, they sent me the first translated info, and said the rest will be available on their website in America sometime this week. They also said, that they have not done studies of Hepamin vs. Lactulose, and the reason for that was that nobody using Hepamin would even need to consider lactulose, as they said patients regain most of their lifestyle just after 4 weeks on Hepamin. Hope this helps. Ivan. Therapeutic effects of Hepamin in patients with liver cirrhosis. Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Russian Center for Surgery Research Hepamin was administered orally as a sole treatment, over a course of three weeks, to thirty six patients with a histologically confirmed diagnoses, characterized by varied disease causes and intensity of processes in the liver. The patients were in a relatively stable condition (not bleeding). The medication dosage was determined on the basis of BCAA requirements, calculated as 0.3 g per 1 kilogram of patient's body weight. Administration of Hepamin allowed to improve the profile of free amino acids in blood plasma, ensuring elevation of low BCAAs concentrations. The increases in total concentrations of BCAAs contributed to significant (ð<0,05) elevation of Fischer index levels from 1,73 ± 0,1 to 2,44 ± 0,2 (norm: 3-3,5). We have noted a significant (ð<0,05) increase of previously low Arginine levels in blood plasma from 7,9 ± 0,2 to 11,0 ± 0,2 (mcM/dL). The changes occurring in patients' fecal flora, as influenced by fiber filaments, were characterized by pronounced bifidogenic and probiotic effects. The Bifidobacteria counts increased by 50-100%, and Lactobacilli counts – by 25-50%, compared to initial levels. The blood ammonia and urea levels decreased (ð<0,05) from 33,0 ± 5,7 to 19,4 ± 3,8 (mcM/dL) and from 371,8 ± 39,4 to 243,5 ± 28,0 (mcM/dL), respectively. The levels of serum Albumin during the monitored period insignificantly increased from 34,2 ± 1,4 to 37,1 ± 2,1 (g/L). Hepamin was well tolerated, producing no side-effects. Fiber filaments incorporated in Hepamin ingredients, in contrast to other low viscosity filaments, do not produce a laxative effect, improve the transport of fecal masses, alleviate constipation problems, and prevent excessive gas formation. Conclusion The mechanisms of Hepamin's therapeutic role should be reviewed for the effects of its ingredients on the primary key phases of Nitrogen exchange: development and absorption of ammonia in the intestine, and neutralization of ammonia in the liver. Equalization of disaminoacidemia contributes to optimization of endogenous protein synthesis, thus leading, indirectly, to lowering of ammonia production in the body. Synergetic influence of Hepamin's ingredients on the key phases of liver encephalopathy pathogenesis (disaminoacidemia and hyperammoniemia) contributed to alleviation or a complete eradication of this syndrome in the clinical manifestation of the disorder in eight patients of the study group, despite a considerably high daily intake of amino Nitrogen. Hepamin is a safe and effective remedy in the aggregate of therapeutic supporting measures applied to patients with liver cirrhosis and chronic liver failure. > > > Hi guys, > > > > I am 36 years old male and just finished Hep C therapy 6 > months > > > ago. > > > > 3 months ago virus was undetected. > > > > But my concern is how I feeling. > > > > It started about 2 years ago. Guest guest
Ivan, How is your Grandma now? I understand from your posts that her HE has subsided but what about her Cirrhosis? Can I ask what caused her liver disease? Is she on a transplant list? Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just wanted to reassure you that Hepamin is nothing but some mix of BCAA with something else most likely far from pharmaceutical grade. And Ivan is trying hard to market in this forum his own product that probably he would mix right in his kitchen and make his living of suffering people. If you need to add BCAA as your supplements you can buy pharmaceutical grade of well known manufacturer from IHERB or other health sites. So be aware. > > > > Hi guys, > > > > > I am 36 years old male and just finished Hep C therapy 6 > > months > > > > ago. > > > > > 3 months ago virus was undetected. > > > > > But my concern is how I feeling. > > > > > It started about 2 years ago. Guest guest
Well, I'm glad she is doing much better. Sometimes, all it takes is to stop drinking for the cirrhosis progression to stop. Many people have lived normal lives with alcoholic cirrhosis after they have stopped drinking. I commend her for doing so. As far as the commotion, for some, when you posted about Hepamin it just seemed out of place to be pushing it so hard. Which may have made people skeptical. But, it's ok to have shared. I never even heard of it until you posted it. Just understand though, no one here would even be able to take it, since it's not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Which means, no ones insurance would ever cover it and no doctor would ever prescribe it. Which means taking it would make most people on a transplant list non-compliant with their doctors. Unless the doctor said they could take it. So, although it did a wonderful thing for your Grandma, it just won't help anyone here. (in the US anyway, not sure about other countries) MaC Ivan Dobrovsky wrote: She is doing great for someone with her condition, she has stage four Cirrhosis, and can not get a transplant for many reasons they say. The cause of her Cirrhosis is alcohol, up until some 25 years ago, they were pretty casual drinkers but then my Grandpa had his first heart attack, and i think something inside her tipped over and she hit the bottle really heavy. She went on for about two decades, she was never really a bother to anyone, sort of very secluded in her drinking, in fact we didn't even know she had a serious problem untill it was too late. Anyway, her Cirrhosis is in check right now, and i don't think there is anything that would reverse that condition, but they say that liver has a tremendous capacity for regeneration and it looks like she has come around a great deal in the past two years. She was really bad before, but now most of the time she leads a pretty normal life, goes to sleep well before midnight, whereas before she stayed up untill 4-5a.m., she is also pretty coherent and is basically someone you wouldn't say was on the way out just a short while ago. We try to make sure she is well looked after, but she is pretty feisty and doesn't like to be babysat. She obviously doesn't drink anymore, just cries a lot, even when she is happy. Life is so precious when you realize that all these minutes and hours are but a glance. and you can see how fragile we are. And all we think about is yesterday and tomorrow, while daydreaming the NOW. Anyway, i do feel that i may have caused some comotion in your group and i didn't mean that at all. Sorry.
