Guest guest
Mel, We all want weight loss to happen. Doesn't have to be quickly but it has to happen. Day to day, week to week, my scales don't move either. Its been 18 months since I was banded and I've lost 13kgs. I've lost 40kg all up. The other 17 was on optifast before surgery. So there are months when I lose nothing. Now, as I've said, I lose 1kg a month. I don't feel that the band is doing anything to aid my weight loss, in a significant way. Like you, I wonder how I can eat about 10 times less than I used to and not lose more weight. I constantly ask myself why / how I still get hunger pains...which I loathe. More fill is likely to put me in the " only eating " mooooooooshy " (LMAO) " category. Which isn't the point of the band. I don't want to live my life eating mince and mashed potato. In the end all I can do is accept that this is the way it is. I will lose weight at a fat snails pace. I will continue to get hunger pains. I will have good and bad food days. I will not diet again...my head demons will come out to play again if I get too hung up on dieting...and I don't want to put my band in danger. I will not compare myself to others in regard to weight loss. I am who I am. I lose the way I do...I can't seem to change that. And as I've said to you, the biggest benefit is that I won't put the weight on again. I may put on and lose the same kilo or 2, but those original 40kg are gone. That in itself is a bonus. Remember that you're not the only one who thinks they're not losing. I've been through the same thing for the past 12 months. My weight loss since banding is pitiful, considering what I have to lose. If you want a whinging / bitching buddy, I'm always here. Kisses Roche
