Guest guest
This is also another post I thought might be useful to paste over here. The author gave permission but asked I not use her name. There were two posts in responce to the one I've pasted that are worth mentioning. One warned that kombucha contains oxalic acid and possibly sent her to the ER for kidney stones problems. She had been drinking it for a few years. She felt you need to be sure kidney stones are not a problems. The other suggested using green tea + 1 bag black (for the glucaronic acid)but to cut down on oxalic acid. Hope this is of help to someone!!! Lynn Lynn, I would think that kombucha would help you a lot. I drank a lot of kombucha (several quarts) in the days following the birth of my second child. It really helped getting all those hormonal and metabolic wastes from the labor/delivery cleaned out of my system really fast. I did not experience the " hormonal burnoff " that is typically associated with the first few weeks after delivery (night sweats, etc) nor did my breastfeeding baby get any skin bumps at all (unlike my first child). From what I understand, these " milia " are caused by excess hormones in the breastmilk which are circulating in the blood from the birth. From what I understand, the glucaronic acid in the kombucha is the binding agent which escorts metabolic and environmental toxins out of the body. It binds them into an inactive form and rushes them to the excretory system. Glucaronic acid is produced by the liver, but cannot be synthesized in the lab. All of us living today have stressed livers from the flood of toxins coming in from every direction and could use a little help. I personally think kombucha is a MUST in the daily diet.
