The National Institute of Health is a government agency - many branches to

it. A tremendous amount of government funds flows through them out to

research scientists. This is where the funding comes from that leads to most

new drugs, excluding the 7% modifications to other drugs so to get new

patents.

Is the NIH a government or government-funded institution? If not, where

does

its funding come from?

When I was lobbying Congressional staff on behalf of WAPF I was told that

Congressmen generally will not listen to any science except what comes

from the

NIH.

If Congress only listens to NIH they'd better shut everyone's lights off

around 9PM every winter night so we get best sleep for hormone production,
