Guest guest
Hi Beth. Thank you for writing. No, I was safe and sound here in Houston. I feel very lucky. My heart is broken for what has happened in NYC, DC and PA. It is truly unbelieveable that happened in this great country of ours. Thank you for asking about me. I do have a question about COBRA for everyone. If I lose my job, which is possible, how does COBRA work? Do I automatically get on it or do I have to apply for it? What is the usual cost? I am quite scared to not have insurance!!! If any of you know the answers, please help. Thank you, R XO >From: eg4@... >Reply-To: Stillsdisease >To: Stillsdisease >Subject: - >Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2001 19:26:26 EDT > >, I haven't seen you check in and I wanted to make sure you were not >out >flying on tuesday when all of this happened! > >Beth > > >
Guest guest
Oh , I hadn't even thought of you and the continental layoffs!!!! I admittedly know very very little about COBRA, but I believe that if you are laid off, you will be eligible for at least a year of coverage if not a little longer. I am not sure of the cost. I am sure there is someone on the list that can help with this. How long have you been with Cont? One of my co-teachers daughter and son in law are likely to lose their job as well. Hang in there, Beth
Guest guest
Dear , I used to be payroll person before I retired. It is up to the company for which you work to give you papers telling you how much the insurance will cost you per month and how long you have to sign up for it - and also how long eligible. - > >Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2001 19:26:26 EDT > > > >, I haven't seen you check in and I wanted to make sure you were not > >out > >flying on tuesday when all of this happened! > > > >Beth > > > > > >
Guest guest
, You have to apply for COBRA from work. It will cost you at least the full amount that you and your employer now pay for insurance, and that, unfortunately, is usually quite expensive. Good luck, hope you don't lose the job.
