Guest guest
I have a two part question if some of you folks could try to answer for me. I just got back from my gastroenterologist yesterday. He told me that I was in Stage 4 Cirrhosis. I have pretty well run the table on all the late stage Cirrhosis symptoms including bleeding esophageal varices. He also mentioned a test he ran on my blood. It sounded to me like a three letter test, the three letters being an acronym. At a score of 10 or above they pretty much diagnose Stage 4. I am by nature not an alarmist but his demeanor wasn't exactly what I would suggest coming from a person giving with a favorable prognosis. Anyway, my score was a high 12 and I was prescribed Lactulose, diuretics and potassium for significant edema My first question is, does anyone have an idea of this test he may be referring to? Secondly, to a layman, could this possibly be an unfavorable prognosis. Thanks in advance. You people are great and keep fighting the good fight. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
