You don't need to be sore after each session to improve. More importantly, what is your goal of your training and are you moving towards it? Simply look at competitive Olympic Lifters who train 5-10 sessions/week and essentially do the same lifts every session. If they were sore after each session and needed 2-3 days rest before training again they would never get the volume (i.e. practice!) needed to succeed. If you are into bodybuilding, simply look at some of the OL's from the past Olympics or Worlds Championships, they are cut and very muscular.
