Guest guest
I cannot believe the speed at which my son is learning language. I don't know if something has just suddenly clicked, but every day he comes out with something extraordinary. Last night, he went into his darkened playroom and said " its dark in here, i can't see " . I took a double take, i could NOT believe what i heard, i thought maybe he was scripting from a movie he saw (shame on me for not believing) I played it cool though and agreed with him and took him to the living room where it was bright. I cant explain this, except for the 2.5 days of chelation he was currently on. Not a big thing to others, but mountain moving to us! STill, all others see is this hyperactive kid who has tantrums and screams, if only they knew our joy when our kids do something like this. I feel sorry for some parents I know who dont get the chance or realise that there is so much to celebrate about our wonderful kids.
Guest guest
Brilliant to hear. I love those moments, they keep me going for days. I remember the day Matt learnt to swim, ride his bike etc and it still makes me smile and full of pride. bbrowne123 wrote: > > I cannot believe the speed at which my son is learning language. > > I don't know if something has just suddenly clicked, but every day he > comes out with something extraordinary. Guest guest
Dear Mandi, I do hope Sam gets there one day. When Henry was very ill as a baby and seizing many times a day, and the prognosis was very dire, I dreamt he sat up on my lap, looked at me and said " Mummy " . There was quite a high chance at that point that he would never do either, but I realised the other day I can no longer remember when he first called me Mummy - I feel rather spoilt that he does it so often I take it for granted. Hope you and the boys are all well, Margaret -- In Autism-Biomedical-Europe , Mum231ASD@... wrote: > > >>Well whatever the trigger, ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYY. Guest guest
Believing is such a big part of the picture for me Mandi, regarding my boy. My belief system re: health, etc has changed forever since his dx and other beliefs too. You know, it was a dream that someone else had about my boy ages ago, that they were driving with him in the front seat, he was about 10, and they said he was chatting away to them, like nobody's business. That person telling me really inspired me, it really really did, especially as it was shortly after dx and i was feeling mortally low. So people, if you have good dreams about each other's kids, tell the parents!!! > > >>Well whatever the trigger, ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYY. Guest guest
ah yes I have those. not about Sam, obviously, that would be wierd. I dream that Tom is nattering away. However, my dreams are just never satisfied. Because when he hadn't uttered a word for a couple of years I'm sure I dreamt about him saying " mummy " or other single words. Now he has a few hundred single words, I'm dreaming about him speaking in paragraphs. Maybe it's just your sub-conscious telling you to keep your eye on the prize. And Happy Dancing indeed for bbrowne!!! although I'm in the office so might just do hand jive if that's permissable. > > >>Well whatever the trigger, ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYY. And, fwiw, if I were getting these kind of improvements I would stick with chelation like white on rice and not allow myself to get distracted by anything else, good job!Not a big thing to others, but mountain moving to us! ====>Oh, I so disagree, this is HUGE!!!! Spontaneous, on-the-point language???? This is the holy grail, what everyone works for, congrats!!!STill, all others see is this hyperactive kid who has tantrums and screams, if only they knew our joy when our kids do something like this. ====>I used to tell my dd that if you saw some good behavior/language/congnition just ONCE, then that is what she was capable of. I was wrong....she was and is capable of so MUCH MORE. I feel sorry for some parents I know who dont get the chance or realise that there is so much to celebrate about our wonderful kids.
