Guest guest
With regard to what we were talking about the other day, to wit, the need for a successor to be up to the task of *receiving* his teacher's transmission, I came across the following in a book called INVITATION TO ENLIGHTENMENT, translations by Hahn of Matriceta's 'Letter to the Great King Kanishka' and Candragomin's 'Letter to a Disciple', published by Dharma Publications: “Those who, completely on their own, conceive a vow in their hearts and integrate it with every action are great, and they will become head-ornaments of the whole globe. It is only through such noble disciples that teachers become real teachers.” It REALLY has nothing to do with one-upmanship or pride at all. m 'The ultimate discipline is to rest at ease in the View' - Jetsün Milarepa
